The PAWS Charity Shop and the Dog Shelter are always looking for helping hands to care for the dogs or assistance with fundraising by working at the shop. Wherever the volunteering is done it all helps to keep the shelter a clean and safe environment for the animals.
Cleaning the dog pens and compounds.
Cleaning the staff kitchen area.
Cleaning the animal kitchen area.
Bathing and grooming dogs.
Walking and playing with dogs.
Maintenance of the shelter.
Pruning trees and bushes.
Working at the shelter can include any of the following jobs that are carried out on a daily or regular basis:
Come along and observe PAWS helpers in action any morning of the week. This way you would get a ‘feel’ for the organisation and see what goes on at the kennels. If you felt comfortable, you could assist an experienced volunteer in some of the tasks that they do without making any longer term commitment.
If you wanted to take things to the next stage and become a volunteer you would be more than welcome. We understand that some people cannot make a commitment to volunteer on the same day each week as they have obligations elsewhere. Speak to us about it and we can come to an arrangement that is convenient for you. Similarly if you only come to Cyprus for a few weeks of the year, you could still make a valuable contribution.
Go on, take that first step, come and see us or contact Matt or Pete on 99683775. You and the PAWS dogs have everything to gain! Shelter opening hours to public: 0700 - 1200.
There is also a need for people to assist with fund-raising for the charity. As you can imagine an organisation such as PAWS is dependent on fundraising, and of course the charity must be kept afloat, and in a position to continue looking after dogs. Assistance is needed with sourcing and maintaining sponsors, organising regular social events and devising new ways for the charity to raise funds. If you have had previous experience in such a role, or you are an individual who has a creative flair and love talking and relating to people, this could be a rewarding experience for both yourself and PAWS.
If you are interested in any of the above roles in PAWS, please contact us, or just call in and speak to us.
PAWS Charity Shop, Chlorakas

If you can answer ‘yes’ to any of the above and can regularly spare a few hours a week to help in our bright new shop, then we would love to hear from you. No previous experience necessary. Income generated by the shop contributes significantly towards the running costs of the PAWS Dog Shelter.
