Even though Simba was found on the streets we suspect that he has spent some time in a home because he has no fear of people, is quite affectionate with them, and is quite at ease in their company. We get the impression that he may have had some training because he can understand some basic commands.
As with most of this breed (Belgian Shepherd/Malinois) he is very energetic and active. He bounces up at his pen door, which is quite offputting to visitors but the real Simba, once you spend time with him, is happy just to lap up every second of attention.
Sadly, this breed and German Shepherds seem to be the two breeds that fare worst in the shelter environment. They really are people dogs and need far more interaction than we have time for. This makes them unhappy and they pace up and down the pen. Dogs like Simba need action, exercise and to be occupied... and to be cuddled. His ideal family will be active themselves and take him for long walks in the countryside or on the beach.
If you are looking for an affectionate but active dog to join you then SIMBA could be the one. Please email colleenatpaws@outlook.com, or send PAWS a private Facebook message (please include your email address in the message), or come to the shelter to meet him.
