Little Pixie was found in the shelter access lane; she was absolutely petrified. Once caught, the extent of her poor physical condition shocked us to the core. We could not comprehend how anyone could allow their dog get into such a state. The chances are that she was used for breeding and when she was eventually too sick to be of any use, she was dumped because we are quite sure that this tiny thing didn’t find her own way there! It was her lucky day though when she was left there because she can is now getting the care and attention that she had so badly needed for a long time.
She has tested positive for Leishmania and is receiving the necessary treatment and skin is recovering well and her and hair is growing back; while the open sores on her paws have healed, leishmania has taken its toll on her poor ears, which are ragged and torn.
Once in the shelter she soon showed what a lovable little creature she is. She is a happy little thing who absolutely adores being cuddled. She would sit on someone's lap all day if she could.
She enjoys the company of other dogs and has quickly learned to walk on a leash and enjoys her little trips out.
She really is the sweetest little mite who just wants some love and attention and a small space on someone’s sofa where she can snuggle up.
