The Story Of Pippilotta, Pogo and Pajero

In May 2023, seven beautiful pups entered the world. Born to a German Shepherd father and a Hungarian Viszla mother, they were full of life and promise. Sadly, their start in life was far from ideal. They came from a home where the owners hadn’t spayed or neutered their pets, and by August 2023, these pups found themselves at PAWS Dog Shelter in Cyprus.

But for two of these siblings, the story took a wonderful turn, both for the dogs and for me and my wife: In November 2023, we have adopted Pico and Prima (now Henschel and Howaldt) and that was the best thing we could do. They are bringing so much joy to our family. Over the last year, they’ve developed into stunning, almost statue-like dogs who often receive compliments from strangers on their beauty. They’re incredibly easy to train, walk wonderfully on a lead (great even for first-time dog owners), and are the epitome of perfect family dogs.

Henschel and Howaldt are up for anything: running, hiking, fetching Frisbee or long walks on the beach. Yet, they’re just as happy to enjoy a lazy day lounging in our garden. And their favorite activity? Cuddling. Whether snuggling with each other or with us, their affectionate nature makes every day brighter. Even as a pair, they’ve been no trouble at all, proving that adopting two siblings together is not only manageable but deeply rewarding.

Here in Cyprus, we took them to the Mountains of Troodos, to nearly all of the Beaches of Paphos, Pissouri and Limassol and to Hikes at Akamas Peninsula and they love it!

However, it saddens us to see, that three of their siblings are still in the shelter. They deserve better, but we do not have the capacity for more than two dogs. If you are looking for the perfect family dog, then look no further and reach out to Colleen (colleenatpaws@outlook.com)

Meet Pogo
Pogo is a big-hearted boy with energy to spare. At just six months old, he weighed 17kg and is expected to grow into a medium-to-large-sized dog. Like his siblings, Pogo is an intelligent and lively pup who thrives on human connection. He’s eager to please, loves the outdoors, and dreams of a family who will take him on long walks or runs along the beach. With his soft, loving nature and trainable spirit, Pogo is ready to shine as someone’s loyal companion.

Meet Pajero
Pajero is another lively and loving boy who shares the same zest for life as Pogo. He’s energetic, affectionate, and eager to explore the world with his forever family. Pajero would make a fantastic adventure buddy for an active household, and his gentle, sweet demeanor makes him equally happy cuddling up at the end of the day.

Meet Pipilotta
Pipilotta, the sole sister, is just as vibrant and affectionate as her brothers. She’s a playful and spirited girl who adores being around people. Pipilotta dreams of finding a home where she can grow, explore, and share her boundless love. With her intelligence and energy, she’ll thrive in a family that can provide her with the attention and training she deserves.

Why Adopt?
These siblings are more than just beautiful; they’re full of potential. Already vaccinated, microchipped, and health-checked, Pogo, Pajero, and Pipilotta are ready to start their new lives. The shelter also offers full rescue backup, ensuring these dogs have all the support they need for a successful transition.

Can You Help?
While Pico and Prima (as well as Pitchu and Patchouli who have already been adopted) are thriving in their new home, Pogo, Pajero, and Pipilotta are still waiting for their chance. They deserve the same love, care, and opportunities. If you’re ready to welcome one of these amazing dogs into your life, or even help spread the word, please reach out.

You can meet them in person at PAWS Dog Shelter, send a private message, or email colleenatpaws@outlook.com.

Not in Cyprus? No Problem!
Dogs can easily travel from Cyprus to the UK, to Germany or other European countries. The shelter will assist with travel arrangements, and a home check will apply.

Let’s give Pogo, Pajero, and Pipilotta the forever homes they deserve. Share their story, and help them find their happy endings!
