Gunther
Description
Name: GUNTHER
M/F: Male
DoB: September 2021
Adult size: Large
Admitted to PAWS: October 2022
Gunther was not a happy dog when he first came to PAWS. We suspect that he hadn’t been treated well by people. Thankfully, he soon learnt that we meant him no harm and he became calmer and showed an affectionate side to his character.
Like many big dogs, and especially German Shepherds, Gunther finds shelter life very stressful; he is constantly on the move, pacing up and down, and as a result easily loses weight – even with two feeds a day. It is so sad to see such a fine dog reduced to a mere shadow of what he should be.
Gunther is fine with people but, we are not so sure about other dogs, therefore we think he would be better off as the only dog in a home with no young children. He really needs people who have the time and patience for him. People who will be able to take him for long walks and keep him occupied. Whilst he is a friendly and quite cuddly dog, he is a big, strong dog and therefore needs people confident in handling him.
If you think you could be the person to guide GUNTHER in the right direction and give him the time he needs, please email colleenatpaws@outlook.com, or send PAWS a private Facebook message (please include your email address in the message), or come to the shelter to meet him.
We are looking for a home for Gunther with people who have plenty of time to spend with him and keep him occupied. Gunther needs people who enjoy being active and not just sitting on the sofa.
