Kessy
Description
M/F: Female
DoB: July 2021
Admitted to PAWS: July 2023
Kessy was left tied to the gates of the shelter one night with her 6 puppies in a cardboard box next to her. Her puppies were only 2 - 3 days old!
By her look, Kessy is probably a Mini Pinscher/Dachshund X and so quite small. Sadly, she is scared of people (we dread to think what sort of life she has had so far!) but this is improving with passing time. Her wild-eyed stare says it all. She is shrinks back from being touched and will move away if she can or make herself as small as possible if not. For all her fear, she is not aggressive. She may bark at you to warn you off but nothing more - and even the barking may be more to protect her pups because she is a fantastic mum.
We don't think she has ever been on a lead, walked, cuddled, shown any affection or attention at all. With time and patience, we are sure that Kessy will overcome her insecurities and become a dog that likes to be with people.
If you would like to adopt or would like more information about KESSY, then please send PAWS a private Facebook message (please include your email address in your message), email colleenatpaws@outlook.com or come to the shelter to meet her.
