Lanee, a little pocket Pointer, was found in our access lane. Only a year old she was incredibly skinny and showing signs of Leishmaniasis. She was so afraid of people it was pitiful to see her cower away. Fast forward a few months and she is reborn! Her Leishmania is being treated and the outward signs have disappeared. She has put on weight, filled out and become a very good looking dog. Her initial skinniness was likely partly due to her untreated illness but much due to not being fed properly. She now absolutely loves her food and devours it with gusto.
She has also now lost her fear of people and can't get enough petting. She loves to be close to people and does her utmost to get them to stay with her.
She has recovered well and now looks healthy. Her Leish is still present but it is under control.
She shares a pen with another dog and got on very well with her right from the start. What she needs now is a family who can show her the love that she craves. Is that you?
