Lea came to the shelter with another dog, Lew. They were brought to us by a gentleman who we are pretty sure was the owner but neither dog had a microchip, so we had to accept that they were found on the streets as strays.
Lea was incredibly nervous when she came to us but over time has become human friendly and loves a walk on the lead. So much is her excitement at getting out of her pen that for the first few minutes she lets everyone know that she is out for a walk by barking, jumping about and weaving backwards and forwards.
She is a clean dog within her pen and so house training should be fairly easy. She will come to people she knows for love and attention on her terms and if approached in the correct way she will allow you to stroke, pet and make a fuss. Strangers, however, need time and so she often gets overlooked by visitors wanting to adopt a dog.
Playing is still alien to her but she can learn. She is no spring chicken but she still has a lot to give. She would do best with older people who can give her attention on a one-to-one basis.
Do you have the patience to work with Lea and bring out the best in her? In return she will be a happy and loyal companion. If you think you can do this then please email colleenatpaws@outlook.com for more information, or send PAWS a private Facebook message (please include your email address in the message), or come to the shelter to meet LEA.
All our dogs come fully vaccinated, health checked, and microchipped with rescue back up from PAWS. PLEASE NOTE: A homecheck will apply to all potential adopters.
Don’t live in Cyprus? Don’t worry. There are no restrictions on dogs flying from Cyprus to UK or other European countries. Travel costs will apply.
