Just imagine, two cardboard boxes left at the shelter gates. The contents? 8 little puppies - all in a sad state of neglect. Sadly two of the puppies passed away leaving us with 5 boys and 1 girl

One of those boys is Mateo, a handsome young light-coloured German Shepherd X. He is absolutely full of energy (as you would expect of a young dog) which he doesn't have the room in his pen to use up so he runs back and forth. He craves attention and will hold your arm or hand in his mouth to try and stop you leaving his pen. Underneath all the action, he has an affectionate character and enjoys being petted.

He is an intelligent dog who just needs some training and something to keep him occupied. This boy desperately needs a home where he will get the required attention and exercise. Once he has a garden to run about in and people to occupy him and keep him in check we believe that he will calm down somewhat.

He is currently medium-sized but probably still has some growing to do and will eventually be typical German Shepherd size.
