Missouri is one of 8 puppies born to a street dog who evaded capture her whole life.  The puppies were born in a cave at the bottom of a ravine and were taken to the safety of a foster home rather than wait until they were running around the roads and possibly getting killed (as happened with pups from previous litters).

Missouri has been in the shelter since October 2022. He’s all grown up now and definitely ready for a forever home and family to call his own. When he was still a pup he thought he had found the perfect home, but it wasn’t to be.  Perhaps his new family weren’t expecting him to behave like a puppy who knew nothing and needed teaching things. But, he WAS a puppy and he liked to greet people and other dogs enthusiastically when out on walks (and still does!). Anyway, they weren’t willing to spend the time teaching him how to behave, and so they returned him to the shelter.

He is still totally gung-ho and thinks everyone likes him to try and get close; but when told in a firm voice ‘No’ every time he even begins to do that, he responds well. He really is a lovely boy and the last of the litter without his own home. If you think a hapy chappy like MISSOURI is the dog for you, and willing to teach him with positive reinforcement, then you will be rewarded with a fantastic family companion.
