Ruby
Description
Name: RUBY
M/F: Female
DoB: February 2025
Adult size: Small – Medium
Admitted to PAWS: August 2026
Ruby was originally adopted from PAWS in April 2025 when she was just a few months old. Unfortunately, in April 2026, she was returned to us. The reason for her return was that she had become overly attached to one member of the family, which caused a significant amount of stress.
When Ruby came back to PAWS, she was withdrawn and had no interest in interacting with anyone. She pressed herself tightly against the fence furthest from the pen door and would only eat when no one was around. She was on the verge of shutting down emotionally. However, fast forward three weeks, and her personality began to re-emerge. Ruby now enjoys going for walks and being petted – though she prefers to be approached on her own terms. While she takes some time to warm up to new people, she has an underlying affection, and we believe she will soon overcome her shyness. Her charming personality is bound to develop as her confidence continues to grow. As for her size, she is not a large dog by any means; being fully grown, she is exactly what you see.
If you are interested in RUBY and would like to find out more about her, please email colleenatpaws@outlook.com, or send PAWS Dog Shelter a private Facebook message (please include your email address in the message), or come to the shelter to see her.
All our dogs are fully vaccinated, health-checked, spayed/neutered (if old enough), and microchipped. Our team at PAWS do everything possible to ensure a smooth transition from shelter to home. We provide ongoing support post-adoption (including rescue backup should it be needed), and our home check process is designed to create the perfect match for both you and your new family member.
Don’t live in Cyprus? Don’t worry! There are no restrictions on dogs flying from Cyprus to the UK or other European countries – travel costs will apply.
