WHEN IT GETS TO HOT TO HAVE A FACE TO FACE QUIZ WE GO ON LINE!
WELCOME BACK TO OUR VIRTUAL QUIZ NIGHTS. FOR TWO NIGHTS ONLY WE WILL RECREATE THE FUN OF OUR MONTHLY QUIZ NIGHTS FROM THE COMFORT OF YOUR LOUNGE, TERRACE, THE BEACH, THE OFICE AND OF COURSE WELCOME THOSE WHO LIVE OUTSIDE CYPRUS TO JOIN US.
WE HAVE THE POWER TO JOIN FAMILIES ACCROSS THE MILES IN OUR TEAM ROOMS, SO CATCH UP WITH YOUR FRIENDS, FAMILY AND OF COURSE OUR EX PAWS DOGS IN THEIR NEW HOMES, TO HELP US RAISE A BIT OF CASH FOR THE SHELTER.
ENTRY IS 10E PP, AND WE WILL START AT 8PM CYPRUS, 6PM UK AND 7PM FRANCE / GERMANY.
THE QUIZ IS ADMINISTERED FROM THE UK – SO TO BOOK CLICK ON THE LINK AND BOOK AS AN INDIVIDUAL OR TEAM. ALL WE NEED IS AN EMAIL TO SEND YOU PRE MATERIAL AND HAND OUTS!!

You will book and then on the evening be sent a link for the zoom room.
If you are playing in a multi team each household will need to enter the zoom room.
your teams will then be joined, and you will be able to discus with the team after the round of questions are asked.
HOW TO JOIN THE QUIZ - the technical bit ....
Preparation- Print out the answer sheet you have been sent - if your team is spread across more than one
household - make sure your team mates have the sheet to hand prior to the Quiz.
Download Zoom [ You can follow the guidance once you have clicked on the meeting link or entered the HTTP link into your browser on the night ]
Make sure your team mates have the link, paper and pens and have the instructions for joining.
Get your drinks, snacks, team mascot, and your joker ready. ZOOM on the night
- Click on the meeting link you have been sent or copy it and put it in your browser. This should take you to the join a meeting screen
Click Join a Meeting to join a meeting without signing in. You can join in with your zoom account - just complete the details on the screen. [you need the
basic free account and nothing more to join any PAWS event] After signing in, you will see the Home tab, where you can click on the join meeting option
If you JOIN WITH VIDEO - we can see you, as can other team members and the rest of the zoom zoom, if you choose not to be seen we will have your name on the screen - you can see others, they cannot see you
Make sure your audio is on - use computer audio - it is the best option.
Because we are screening access you will arrive in the waiting room - don't worry of you have to wait a few moments for the host to let you in , Once I know you are waiting I will get you to the zoom room ASAP.
Once you are in zoom with the camera on - you will be able to see and hear all the other participants. Feel free to spend a few moments familiarising yourself with the in meeting controls of zoom
The meeting controls located at the bottom of the meeting window (move your mouse in the Zoom window to display meeting controls) allow you to mute yourself - so turn off your sound so no one can hear you. You can swop your screen view - so gallery allows you to see everyone, speaker, only the person speaking, share screen is not relevant for the quiz.
During the quiz you will be automatically muted so everyone can hear the questions. You will also be moved automatically if you are in a cross household team. {I need to know who is in your team - otherwise I cannot allocate you to your space] Please check you are muted on your screen during your discussions.
If you are in a small team - you will have a timer from the quiz master. If you are in a break out team there will be an on screen message about time management.
In your team discussions - if you are an at home team - and you are muted, no one can hear your discussions re the answers. If you are a more than one household team - you will be muted
during the questions - you will then be reunited with your team members in a separate space - so you can discuss your team answers.
The quizmaster will be in view when he asks the questions - others will be in small screens - if we are all together then pick Gallery view and you can see everyone in the ‘zoom room’
We will also use a share screen for visual rounds, and to keep score. The Audio is controlled on your device - we will have a sound check before we start. TIPS
if you are playing your joker - we need to see it - feel free to make your own and wave it at us - or use the copy attached [ you can even colour it in!!] If we have a fantastic range I am sure we can find a prize for the best one!
Thumbs up means all is good - thumbs down there is a problem
We will have three rounds and a short refreshment break whilst you complete the paper rounds - these will be sent by email - we will have them up on the share screen - and during the break we will unmute you - so if you want to discuss the questions - feel free to mute yourselves. Just don't phone a friend!!
Your scores - we trust you to mark your own forms .......and will not be asking you to tell us your score / shout out at the end of rounds-it takes too long ....But we ask you to send us your score by email, or sms - that way we can put your super scores on the leader board.
