Lea

Description

Name: LEA
DoB: December 2016
M/F: Female
Breed: Hound
Admitted: December 2023

Lea came to the shelter with another dog, Lew. They were brought to us by a gentleman who we are sure was the owner but neither dog had a microchip, so we had to accept that they were found on the streets as strays.

Lea and Lew were both incredibly nervous when then came to us but over time Lea has become more approachable and loves a walk on lead. She is a clean dog within her pen and so house training should be fairly easy. She will come to people she knows for love and attention on her terms and if approached in the correct way she will allow you to stroke, pet and make a fuss. Strangers, however, need time and so she often gets overlooked by visitors wanting to adopt a dog.

Playing is alien to her and given that she isn’t food oriented any training will take time. She is no spring chicken but she still has a lot to give. She would do best with older people who can give her attention on a one-to-one basis.

Do you have the patience to work with Lea and bring out the best in her? In return she will be a happy and loyal companion. If you think you can do this then please email colleenatpaws@outlook.com for more information, or send PAWS a private Facebook message (please include your email address in the message), or come to the shelter to meet LEA.
