Young Charlie was roaming the streets for a few months just wanting someone to love him. He couldn't have been more than 6 months old - far too young to be fending for himself. Lucky for him, some kind people took him in and cared for him for a little while until he could come to the shelter. His foster parents loved him but were unable to provide him with the attention and time he needs, plus they have an older dog and live in a small apartment.
They describe him as 'an adorable boy' - and he really is. He is a lovable, people-friendly dog who adores attention and loves to cuddle. He gets on well with other dogs, walks well on the lead and is house-trained. He is an intelligent boy who should be easy to train because he wants to please you.
Charlie is something of a Houdini though; he wants to explore what is beyond his confines. A few days after arriving at the shelter he managed to climb out of his pen, but not only that because he climbed the compound fence as well and escaped. Thankfully he was turned up at someone's door 4km away. So, anyone wishing to adopt Charlie must have a VERY secure garden with high fences/walls.
Charlie has the makings of a great family dog (older children only because he is a big, strong dog). If you are a fan of big, active and slightly crazy dogs and you think you can give Charlie the best life he deserves, please send PAWS a private Facebook message (please include your email address in your message), email colleenatpaws@outlook.com or come to the shelter to meet him.
