Brian

Description

Name: BRIAN
DoB: January 2019
M/F: Male
Breed: Shepherd X
Admitted to PAWS: January 2023

Brian was found running loose in the shelter access lane. We don’t know if he found his way there on his own or if he was abandoned.
He is a big dog at 30with a unique personality. Initially, he was scared and uncooperative, demonstrating a clear desire to keep his distance from strangers. However, he quickly began to warm up to people and show a more affectionate side. He loves to cuddle and has a tendency to engage in playful hugs, which can sometimes be a little overwhelming. While Brian is generally non-aggressive and cooperative with familiar people, he has shown signs of discomfort around some people. He can (like some dogs do) react to what he sees as provocations, for example direct staring or unexpected movements. This just goes to show that he can be sensitive to unfamiliar situations.
Despite his gentle nature with people he knows, Brian’s size and strength can pose challenges when it comes to handling him, especially since he has never had any training and so doesn’t know any commands. Overall, Brian is a big-hearted dog looking for an experienced owner who understands him and can provide the training and structure he needs to develop.
Are you an experienced dog owner without small children who is up for a bit of a challenge? If so, and you like the look of our BRIAN and would like to find out more about him, please email colleenatpaws@outlook.com, or send PAWS a private Facebook message (please include your email address in the message), or come to the shelter to meet him.

Every dog in our care is fully vaccinated, health-checked, spayed/neutered (if old enough), and microchipped. Our team at PAWS is committed to ensuring a seamless transition from shelter to home. We offer ongoing support after adoption, including rescue backup if needed, and our thorough home check process ensures the perfect match for both you and your new furry friend.
