Herbert was brought to us by a lady who had spent a long time gaining his trust to be able to catch him.  His condition showed obvious signs of the presence of Leishmania. A subsequent blood test confirmed it. With the right medication and food he has recovered remarkably well and he has become the handsome chap that you see in the photograph.

Herbert loves people and loves to go for a walk. He is a big, strong dog but with a gentle soul. He will make a wonderful companion.  He is, however, an escape artist and will need an extra, extra secure garden with very high walls/fences that have no footholds or anything nearby to give him leverage.

We we will be happy to give you more information about Leishmania and will answer any questions you may have. Whilst Leishmania is a lifelong disease it can be controlled with medication and the right food. Most dogs who are affected by it go on to live a normal, happy life.
