Timmy came to PAWS with another dog who we called Teddy. We think that the are probably brothers, abandoned together. Timmy, being a very active dog, does not have enough to occupy him at the shelter and so is stressed. A result of this stress and constantly being on the go, is that he has lost weight. He is one of the several dogs that really needs to be in a home where he can feel safe and comfortable, with people around him for much of the time. Timmy is a different dog when someone goes into his pen to see him. He calms down and enjoys human contact. A home where he can run free and safely in a garden, go for long walks, play - the things that most dogs enjoy.
In general, Timmy is an active dog who will be at his best when being physically and mentally exercised/occupied. He needs people who will take the time to understand him and encourage him; show him what is acceptable behaviour and what is not. He will definitely need some training because as yet he seems to know nothing. Once he has rules and consistent handling and he understands commands, he will flourish and become a great companion dog.
Our volunteers say:
'Timmy such a sweetie. He’s calmed down a lot and enjoys attention. He’s very affectionate but would benefit from an active lifestyle as he gets a bit stressed when bored. He loves cuddles!'
If you are people who can develop TIMMY into a loyal companion or would like more information about him, then please send PAWS a private Facebook message (please include your email address in your message), email colleenatpaws@outlook.com or come to the shelter to meet him.
