Apollo was found with his brother Zeus. At first he was very anxious and, having found a spot he felt safe in, retreated there to avoid us humans. It didn't take much more than a couple of weeks for him to find his feet and grow in confidence. He is now much happier around people and can hardly contain his joy to have someone close. There can still be a slight hesitation, we think possibly caused by bad experiences in the past.
Apollo loves to play and enjoys walks. Apollo will need people who are willing to take the time and have the patience to train him and teach him right from wrong, but he is intelligent enough to pick things up quickly.
He is a handsome boy with a lovely character and with time will make a superb family pet. Because he is a bigger dog with lots of energy, we think he would be better with adults and older children.
What do volunteers think of Apollo?
'He is a great boy when he gets to know you. He is still shy with strangers, but once he trusts you he is very affectionate, very gentle walks well on a lead'
'Apollo is a loving boy. Shy at first but affectionate once he gets to trust you. Very good on the lead.'
